Nicholas Booth – Mars: The Clearest View

With three new missions heading to Mars, Nicholas Booth will discuss our changing perceptions of the Red Planet. For the first time in forty years, NASA will be looking directly towards life – and Nick will tell the story of how people have thought they have discovered life in recent years. He will set the scene for the next great space spectacular – the return of samples of Mars within a decade. Having reported the subject for many years, Nick will also tell some lesser known stories about this great scientific quest of our age – obtaining our clearest view of Mars
NICHOLAS BOOTH is a writer and broadcaster. He started his career with a book about Mars in 1988 and his latest – co-authored with the Canadian science writer Elizabeth Howell – is “The Search For Life On Mars” based on their joint reporting over the last thirty years. They tweet as @search_mars
